Holla, bloggers and readers! A wonderful prosperity Chinese New Year 2016 (08 February 2016) is coming in few days. I believe that all of you have prepared your holiday plan nicely with yours lovely family. I also have plans for this Fire Monkey's year that I will going back to my lovely hometown, Medan.



What is the first thing that comes up in your mind about Medan? Batak Culture, Medanese language, Lake Toba, and certainly Culinary! Yup, when it comes about Medan, it is definetely about food, food and food! Even though, Like most of Indonesian food, Medanese food itself has its own unique and special taste that will absolutely make you enjoy and love it.

Here are 5 Medanese foods that will make your stomach hungry instantly, Check it out:

1. Bakmi Khek Garut ("Khek" Garut Noodle)

My all time favorite menu for lunch! Super delicious "Khek" style noodle topped with minced pork will leave a great taste that make you addicted to it. Name "Garut" was taken from their store that located on Garut street. Price from IDR 20.000 /person. #nonhalal










2. Sate Padang Triadi (Satay)
Sate Triadi with Kerupuk Kelinci
To all spicy food lover must try this Satay Padang Triadi. Located on Bandar Baru street, but moved to Malaka street now. This satay a little bit pricey comparing to other, because they serve squid, quail egg, chicken's fat and many more besides beef and chicken meat. I recommend "Kerupuk Kelinci" for an extra topping to satisfy your stomach.




3. Nasi Padang Gumarang Jaya (Padang style Rice Gumarang Jaya)

Every Indonesian people do love this one. Rice served with Ayam goreng Pop (Pop fried chicken), Daging Rendang (Rendang Beef), or Peyek Udang (Shrimp fried crisps) with spicy coconut milk-broth will suited your taste greatly. Newly open Cafe with lots of menu and foods that located at Merbabu street no. 12 (near Deli Hospital). Do not worry about the price, it is very affordable as it start from IDR 15.000. Looking for a place to chit chat with friends is no problem too, as this cafe do serve good quality coffee for you guys to chit chat. Make sure you guys visit this coffee shop.


















5. Babi Panggang Karo, BPK (Karo Grilled Pork)

Medan identic with BPK and if you guys looking for it, Rumah Makan Idola (Idola Restaurant) located on Aksara Street will be your destination for satisfying your appetite. A plate of Grilled pork chop served with soup and blood will make you hard to stop eating. Compare to others, Idola Restaurant is more expensive, but the price still reasonable. #nonhalal
